    1. Sitting here writing a recommendation for one of the best students I've had at ASU, my email dings with an (unrelated) message from @KathrynGraddy. I've written 100s of letters for 61 students and never seen this; "thanks" feel authentic and the ad is appropriate. Nicely done.

    (You think I’m crazy knowing how many students I’ve written recs for,¹ but without systems I miss deadlines and systems also capture data—sometimes of dubious value—which is why I know I’ve submitted papers to 132 conferences including the 5 I’m waiting to hear from now 🤞🏻.) ¹61
