@dclingi @jasonmlindo @MayraPinedaT One nice feature of hexagons (there are others) is that as two points in the underlying space get arbitrarily close, they will either be in the same cell or edge-adjacent cells. So there is no problem of close observations falling into vertex-adjacent (“catty-corner” cells).
