  1. I liked this piece (h/t @JedKolko). Reading it, I was reminded how bad my sense of scale of many American cities/metros is. Sure, NYC population is 8.5M (city) or 20M (metro). How good is your guess of how many US cities and metros have ≥1M? ≥200K? 1/2. Spoilers in next tweet @annehelen/1112404467821875200

      US cities with population ≥1M: 10 (smallest is San Jose) Metros ≥1M: 53 (smallest is Tucson) Cities ≥200K: 116 (smallest is Salt Lake City) Metros ≥200K: 220 (smallest is Johnson City, TN of “Wagon Wheel” fame) 2/2
