[Brag alert.] I was honored and proud today to receive the @WPCareySchool Huizingh Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher Award. Research is just one important part of my job; I love that I get to do that and *also* get to teach and mentor students! (1/4)

2. I wish cultural norms in the research community made more room for celebrating teaching. It’s a big part of how we spread knowledge—and love of knowledge—*at scale*. @WPCareySchool has 15,228 students, of whom 13,555 are undergrads (~1,400 finance majors).

3. I’m also really proud of my colleagues in @WPCareySchool Finance, where I think we’ve *really* been upping our teaching game. Also recognized today: - Ilona Babenko (college-wide PhD teaching award) - Denis Sosyura (college-wide, student-chosen graduate teaching award)

4. Finally, most faculty learn to teach only informally, emulating the best we saw as students. Investment in the classroom sets our students up to more effectively teach the next gen 🙏to teachers who inspired me incl. Barbara Ames, @DrPNHalkitis, David Hankin, and Hal Weinstein
