This👇 is the Beamer tips thread you’re looking for (and @a40ruhr’s *always* a good follow): - 16:9 - setbeamertemplate - Control variables - Variable names, incl. indicators, vectors, matrices - × - booktabs - graphs - gender neutrality My few quick thoughts/adds, below. 1/6 @AlfredoPaloyo/1135049341847068672

            2. Longer variable names: @a40ruhr suggests “\mathit{•}” which works well, but can have some funky spacing issues. I like to use “\operatorname{•}” which gives non-italic names. tex.stackexchange.com/questions/48459/whats-the-difference-between-mathrm-and-operatorname

          3. I understand the impulse behind hiding the footer with “\setbeamertemplate{footline}{}” but I *like* to see author’s name at multitrack conferences. Folks come in during the middle of a session or aren’t paying attention to the program… worth reminding who the author is.

        4. I like having an appendix full of backup slides. Opinions differ on buttons linking to/from backup, but I am in favor. I try to be careful about using the “right” buttons, which help me not lose track of my place when I click one: @lukestein/1045001425015566336

      5. If you’re using a template that shows the total number of slides (e.g., 1/22), make sure the total doesn’t include any extra or appendix slides. In your preamble, put \usepackage{appendixnumberbeamer} And then after your last “real” slide, just put \appendix

6/6. I like saving a folder of static images of my slides. Good for posting on twitter, emailing a particular graph/table, or—in a pinch—showing a presentation with no risk of font issues (incl. from the native photos app on your phone). @lukestein/1131567137854615552
