  1. Very excited to present my work on the Freedman’s Savings Bank (with Constantine Yannelis) this afternoon to the @UCDavisEcon History group. Everyone’s so nice; presumably the seminar itself will be less brutal than the amazing architecture reddit.com/r/brutalism/comments/6tolw9/the_uc_davis_social_sciences_and_humanities/

Great to get to meet @mjdcurtis3, who will be on the market next year. Matt is doing very cool work on the Q-Q tradeoff in investment in children’s human capital, using data on twins births and marriage licenses in 19th century Quebec. @ClioSociety/1134478152791678976

Santi @seperez84 has been a fantastic host, and cool to get to hear more about his new work with Ran, @leah_boustan, and Elisa. @nberpubs/1190274796707184643

Peter Zhixian Lin is an impressive JM candidate working on labor and economic history. In addition to a cool JM paper on spillovers from Chinese urban → rural migrants, he has several other cool papers (and promised he’d post their abstracts, too!) zhixianlin.com/

Thought I was lucky to be *meeting* @mpbitler, but she somehow remembered we met at the SF Fed when @jenniferdoleac and I presented our Visible Hand paper as grad students in 2011. So instead, I was just lucky to see her again! (Selfie taken to send to our mutual friend @onwall)

Unsurprisingly, @cmicmeissner had lots of good questions for me during the talk this afternoon. As did Gregory Clark and @K_A_Eriksson, with whom I’m also looking forward to having dinner tonight. Thank you again for a fantastic visit! (_n==_N)

First time packing helmet/pedals/bike shoes for a seminar, but won’t be the last. Thanks to @K_A_Eriksson for taking me out this morning… definitely ended the visit on a high note! 🚴🏻‍♀️🚴🏻‍♂️
