@LGBTQ_Econ Of course, happy to share what little I know. (Seriously; the expert is @danielmangrum.) A few thoughts on hosting @zoom_us happy hours: Number 1 is to practice with a smaller trusted group first to make sure you understand how to set things so participants are muted on entry 1/

@LGBTQ_Econ Here are some tips (some obvious, some not) about suggested settings. For example, ensure that only the host can share screen lifehacker.com/how-to-prevent-jerks-from-ruining-your-zoom-meetings-1842453487 This makes it somewhat difficult for people to eg start streaming porn 🤦🏻‍♂️ 2/

@LGBTQ_Econ If you’re doing breakout rooms 1 Randomly asssigned vs. topical? 2 Size? (I think when people don’t know each other in advance, 3–5 may be better than 6–8) 3 Duration? (5 mins too short; 15 mins too long) which will also depend on group size 7/

@LGBTQ_Econ We also had a short free-for-all in the middle (ie non-breakout time with 40+ people in the “lobby”) which doesn’t work for effective communication but is valuable for people to see who all is there, physically wave 👋🏻 to friends, etc. 8/
