        @lhnicholas @jdmatsudaira We're in the home stretch! We drove in our car (couldn't get an RV rental) with a 3yo and 6yo. Many rest areas were closed and restaurant bathrooms were hit or miss; we mainly found truck stops and gas stations were our best bet. 1/

      @lhnicholas @jdmatsudaira We did (and I recommend) a real MIX of lodging styles: urban hotels, motels (easy access from car to room), and airbnb (a great farm in Kentucky!). The kids (and we) really liked the variety. 2/

    @lhnicholas @jdmatsudaira We had small gifts/toys that we doled out every day or two which entertained kids in the car surprisingly well. And we brought a LOT of stuff in the car (largely bc we may not get access to our moving boxes for months), but had small bags to actually bring inside each night 3/3
