@paulgp I asked a senior once about widespread reliance on “5–1”-style tests which can’t possibly be the “right” approach. Him: Everyone knows they’re crazy but it’s basically a collective commitment device to avoid p-hacking. (So that’s why there’s no p-hacking in asset pricing🙃!)
